SEPTEMBER 2018  Affordable housing development, One Gurney Street in Roxbury Crossing recently held a grand opening!  The first phase of Parcel 25, a mixed-use, transit-oriented development is part of a larger development vision of nonprofit Mission Hill Neighborhood Housing Services designed to reestablish Roxbury Crossing as a positive Gateway to Mission Hill.

The property now occupies a long-vacant parcel formerly owned by MBTA at the junction of Tremont, Gurney, and Station streets. The redevelopment of this parcel is designed to bring a positive economic impact to Mission Hill by including job training, homeownership, employment opportunities, and stabilizing retail. Parcel 25 will be a place that connects the community.

The five-story mixed-use development designed by Good Clancy brings 40 units of affordable housing, retail, office, and community space totaling 77,500 SF to the community. The 27,000 SF of office space on the first two floors were designed by Margulies Perruzzi Architects and is now the new home to Metro Housing Boston. Previously known as Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership, the nonprofit organization chose Parcel 25 for their new headquarters because its proximity to the Orange Line will give it easier access to the 25,000 families it serves annually.
